It's a Fair Trade
Construction technology dramatically influences the building trades, but as the rate of adoption increases, there are still many essential but unanswered questions. Questions about how technology is changing the skill set needed to be a modern builder. What should those builders expect as they leap into modern construction? Many ask if the technology is leading to a brain drain? Is prefabrication changing the craftsman of today to resemble assembly line workers? How are robotics, data, and automation likely to affect the people we count upon to build our structures and homes? In this episode, we discuss those questions and others with Stephan Schnell, Training Director at JATC Local 467 in the Bay Area. Stephan also acts as an advisor to Construction Tech startups. We also talk with Mike Zivanovic, Sales Development Specialist with GTP services and former Technology Manager and VDC team member for local 597 out of Chicago. Join us as we talk about the changes and trade-offs that happen as modern technology takes a more active construction role.
