The Construction Dorketts
As this podcast has begun to take shape, Travis, Jonathan, Trent, and I have all had our moments of trying to understand what we are doing and where we are going. Just like the nerds we borrowed some of our tag lines from, we are trying to define what it is we are (Or more importantly what it is we are not). I do not think any of us knows the answer to what we are, nor will we for a while. We are, however, firm on what we are not. We are not a single individual, viewpoint, race, product, or purpose. What we have firmly decided is we do not want to be defined in the normal constructs of other movements. We want the Construction Dorks to be free of the normal constraints that we find in our daily work lives. In following our purpose, we hand this next episode over to a group of people that we admire. They just so happen to all be women in construction, but each of them is far more than just one label. These are all people that have joined us in the hallways and watering holes to have deep, dorky discussions around the many challenges we are facing as technologists in the construction industry. Hence why you NEED to hear their perspective. This is not a token episode to support the cause, but rather another step towards the Construction Dorks continuing to define itself as a movement of individuals that want to passionately share in a safe space for dorking out no matter who you are or what your background is.
